What is shadowing?

Shadowing is a listening and speaking exercise. Listen closely and repeat just behind the speaker, trying to copy the pronunciation, rhythm, stress, and intonation.

How to practise

  1. Choose the normal or 90% recording.
  2. Tap Start Shadowing Mode.
  3. Listen and repeat the highlighted phrase.
  4. Use Repeat phrase whenever you need more time.

Why shadowing helps

  • It trains your ears to notice how words connect in natural speech.
  • It improves pronunciation, rhythm, stress, and intonation.
  • It helps useful phrases become faster and more automatic.
  • It can build speaking fluency and confidence.

Tip: Begin with the 90% recording if necessary. Focus first on copying the sound and rhythm; you do not need to speak perfectly.

You don’t need to talk to anyone. They are everywhere. You can find them in train stations, schools, hospitals, and on streets.

Problems with Vending Machines

Vending machines also have some problems. Sometimes machines break. You put money in, but the machine doesn’t give you anything. This makes people angry. Some machines sell unhealthy food. If people eat too much candy and drink too much soda, they can become sick. Vending machines also use electricity all day and night. This uses a lot of energy.

What will vending machines be like in the future? Imagine a vending machine that knows you when you walk up to it. It might suggest a drink or snack.
